Frequently asked Questions

Down below are some Q&A about PowerPC Archive. Take a look!

Q&A

Q: Will this software for sure work on my machine?
A: We test it out on different models of Macs, so while we try to get accurate results you
may run into an issue that we didn't see. If this is the case, please tell us about it!

Q: Is there a place to get warranty and or support?
A: Some applications that are still being developed (such as TenFourFox) may have
a forum of some sort that you can post to in an attempt to get assistance.

Q: Is the PowerPC platform completely dead?
A: To a point, yes. This is the fact that few people actually still develop software for PPC.
Some people still make new versions which is awesome! From our testing, a PowerPC
Mac is still more than capable to do modern tasks. Yes you may not be editing 4K video
in Final Cut Pro X or making new jams in Logic Pro X, but older versions still work fine.

Q: Do you have intentions to keep PowerPC Macs alive?
A: Absolutely. That's the reason PowerPC Archive and the blog PowerPC Centre is here.
We even have some plans to expand PowerPC Software where we can possibly get
developers to re-release apps for PPC in the near future!

Q: Is the software only for OS X 10.5 Leopard?
A: Most of the software you'll find here is intended to work with Leopard. We are working on a
software page specific to Tiger, that way it's easier to find apps for that OS. However, some apps
         actually may work with pre-Tiger!
