Apple Hardware

Here we take a look and see what will work (and not) using Leopard on a Mac!

Apple Magic Mouse

Picture
The Magic Mouse is Apple's bluetooth mouse that ships standard with the new iMacs. But will it work with a Leopard Mac and be able to use the scrolling, 2 button click, among other things? These mice you can still buy in stores as of 8/17/2013.

[Confirmed] on 8/17/2013
We tested and confirmed that the mouse will work without an issue.
However swiping back in a web page will work but needs more effort.
These need Software Update KB/DL951 in order to work with full functionality.

Apple Wireless Keyboard

Picture
This keyboard is wireless and uses bluetooth for connection to your computer. These are sleek, aluminum keyboards that take 2 AA batteries to run. They also have media keys along the Fx series of keys for control such as screen brightness, dashboard, mission control, Volume, and Media control.

[Confirmed] with a 2009 model keyboard. However newer models have not been tested as of 8/17/2013
These need Software Update KB/DL957 in order to work with full functionality.

Apple Wired Keyboard

Picture
This is essentially a Apple Wireless Keyboard that uses a wire and has a keypad on the side. They look identical however the wired edition has more keys.

[Confirmed] with a 2009 model keyboard. Tested on 1/22/2014
[Failed] with a 2011 model keyboard. Tested on 8/17/2013
We believe that with the release of Mac OS X Lion, Apple changed the F3/4 keys to Mission Control.
